POTS, or Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (Whew! That's quite a long name!:), is a chronic illness concerning a form of orthostatic intolerance that is associated with the presence of excessive tachycardia and many other symptoms mostly upon standing, but sometimes sitting. In English: basically, when I stand, my heart beats 30 to 40 more times a minute than it's suppose to, and all my blood rushes to my feet. This can cause symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, headaches, lightheadedness, fainting, nausea, blurred vision, and a whole bunch more that I'm not going to mention, mostly due to the fact that it would take all day :) Currently, there is no cure for POTS, but I hope to someday get it in a manageable position so I can live life without any problems XD. Since this is a chronic illness, there is constant pain, and not just when standing up. But anyway, I'm not going to bore you with any more details, that would just take to long and I'd rather not talk about myself anymore :) However, if you do want to know more about POTS, click here :)
Oh my goodness! I've never heard of anything like that before! I'm so sorry, Lacie... I'll be praying for you. Hopefully it will go away or at least get better!

I actually have similar issues, and my mom has POTS as well. POTS and many other symptoms are caused by something called "histamine intolerance." Basically, every time you eat, your immune system releases histamine, which is a compound used for when you have an allergic reaction. Since this causes an allergic reaction, there is lots of inflammation all over the body. Some of my personal symptoms are a pounding heartbeat, nausea, headaches, and anxiety. There actually is a cure.
ReplyDeleteIt's called your mind. Your body can heal yourself. You just have to believe it can. Everything your brain says, your cells listen. There is a connection between them. Tell yourself you will get better. Tell yourself, there is a cure, because there is. I know of a chef who has healed herself from her histamine problems, and she said that 10% of her healing was food, and 90% of it, was her mind.
Since your body can only have so much histamine at a time, you need to empty your "histamine bucket". Bananas, avacados and strawberries cause the release of more histamine, so it's wise to not eat those. Currently I'm not eating any of those, along with a boatload of other things. :)
Think I'm crazy? You are probably thinking, "How could this girl possibly know the cure for my incurable illness?" I know, because I have it.
I encourage you to look up more about histamine intolerance. You won't regret it.
Thanks for the information!
